UTSGhost's Anime Ratings

Welcome to my own Anime Rating Website!

Here I rate all the Animes I've watched (which you can review on my MAL Account) based on some criterias I came up on my own.

The MAL rating of each Anime is calculated by adding up all the small categories scores and dividing it by 10. The score is then round for MAL. However, because of how my rating system works, scores below 1 (a score below 0 is even possible) as well as scores above 10 (though I really wouldn't rate any Anime that high).

Rating System

First of all, every anime has two main parts: "Objective" and "Subjective," which are pretty self-explanatory. Both make up 50% of the resulting score. However, one can never truly rate something entirely objectively, especially when it comes to categories like "Sound/Music." These two main parts are further split into four mid-layer categories, of which two give a maximum of 15 points and two give 10 points. The mid-layer categories are split into various sub-criteria, which are not independent from each other. This means that a score of 10 in "Animation" might result in a score of 0 in "Character Design" just so that "Art" does not exceed its maximum points of 10/10. The average score of each sub-criteria is 2, which means that the "most average" anime would have an "Objective" score of 35 and a "Subjective" score of 30, resulting in a rating of 6.5, which is considered rather high. To counter that, there are some categories that might not even be fulfillable, such as "Antagonist" in a rom-com, when simply no antagonist exists. I do considere such factors when rating each category. When rating each category, I am able to give it 2 points more or 2 points less than the max/min. In that way, I can reward Animes which exceed especially in only few categories (or punish them for being trash). In that way, even if the "Animation" is a 10, I am still allowed to give "Character Design" 2 points, so the fantastic animation doesn't punish the still pretty good character design. In that situation, the 2 points for "Character Design" are relatively worth more than just 2 points, it's just I cannot allow any category to have more than 2 bonus points or else some will dominate for simply having the best art or music.
